© Lorna Lakin 2023

A public exhibition of first and second-year Fine Art students.  The title references the diverse nature of work explored by students, exploring themes of mental health, family life and identity.

Lakins'' work was exhibited under the title "Belonging".  Belonging is a selection of artworks exploring vulnerability and belonging.

In a series of portrait studies, Lino print and mixed media were used to redact Dolly Henry’s features giving a partial view of how Dolly was depicted by a range of artists throughout her short professional life as an artist model. She was murdered by the Artist John Currie at 20.

This work was curated alongside paintings depicting private moments of family life and invited the audience to make connections. Lone children, in predominantly empty backdrops, reflect recognisable family moments, indicating inclusion despite the absence of other people in the space.
